Elekibass are an indie-pop group from Tokyo, Japan. They are influenced by the Beatles, the Kinks, NRBQ, Os Mutantes, Kevin Ayers, of Montreal, Small Faces, and The Who. In 2000, they released a 7 inch on Waikikirecord, a label operated by band member Sakamoto, and their EP California was released from abcdefg records, an independent label in Nagoya. An American edition of California with some bonus tracks was also released in USA on Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records. Their first full length album Mystic Brothers Magick Sister was released in August of 2002. In 2001, they joined the American band of Montreal on a 12-show tour across the east coast of the USA.

In February of 2003, they embarked on their 2nd American tour, playing 11 shows with the American band 63 Crayons. In the summer of 2005 they toured with with English singer-songwriter Keith John Adams, and the American band, Casper & the Cookies. Read more on Last.fm.
