Electroputas is a trio from New York City, created in the late 90's. They play an aggressive mixture of different kinds of music, such as noise, avant-garde, psychedelic, Japanese freakout, krautrock, no wave, etc. The band was created by Joe Frivaldi (Hungary), Jaiko Suzuki and Akio Mokuno (both from Japan). Electroputas is rather underground group, which rarely plays in the clubs of NYC. In 1999 Electroputas recorded their first album titled 6 or 7 special operations; the next one was recorded with Jim Sclavunos (drummer and musician, played with Teenage Jesus and The Jerks i 8 Eyed Spy, collaborated with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) that has been in limbo for a few years.

Only their Piano Bloom EP, a part of The Social Registry’s 12” series has had wide distribution. In 2004 Electroputas released a new album, the 3 which brings a range of guests including: Josh Diamond (z Gang Gang Dance), Zulemma Castillo and Abdel Kader Ouedraogo. The music from the 3 has been already compared to the accomplishments of such artists as Chrome, Lightning Bolt, Ciccone Youth. Read more on Last.fm.
