The band's full album 'Heartbreaks for Fools' was released in July 2010 on Anova Records, to a buzzing media attention, received praises from music critics ("A huge band. Not the best big thing but the current one", Yedioth Achronoth, Israel's largest daily). It’s the song craft, unique combination of influences, bawdy, rollicking melodies and stylish appeal that made Electra reach top positions in major radio charts, that use to be dominated by mainstream mellow acts, with the three singles the band have put out this year. Coming to Get You! Was described as "insanely catchy ska deriven rocker… the perfect summer party tune" (Jerusalem post) but it also carries a political statement confronting the Israeli war policies. The band sees with concern as the fascist movement grows in land and the B side for this song - a cover version of The Israelites - was reflecting to the injustice and discrimination in Israeli society.
Electra was invited to open up for 'The Fall' and 'Art brut' in recent months, and now Nitzan Horesh (guitar, vocals), Doron Farhi (bass) and Boaz Wolf (drums) prepare for the SXSW showcase on March 26 (Easy Tiger, 23:59) followed by these those US dates: 03/19 SXSW @ Spiderhouse (13:00) 03/21 BROOKLYN, NY @ Bruar Falls (9:00) 03/23 NEW YORK, NY @ Pianos (8:00pm) 03/24 BROOKLYN, NY @ Bar Matchless (11:00pm) 03/26 Washington DC @ Kennedy Centre (18:00) Read more on Last.fm.
