Nevertheless, Fachry eventually met Gerald on Kaskus, Gerald earned his respect from an abundant of band experiences in Indonesia, mostly metal and alternative rock, and according to testimonials of some, he got great skills. Subsequently, Gerald suggested Itcnk, a bassist, whose interests are in rock music, funk and blues, and a songwriter too. Coincidentally ,At that time ,He was involved in another band, yet after a series of talks and begging (hehe..), he eventually decided to help us in bass department. Not only that, He also recommended a guitarist named Ary, who studied in the same University with Itcnk. Ary is a genius ,academically and musically, Indeed.
He can quickly learn and easily blends with the rest of the band though he normally plays acoustic guitar and jamming with a rock band like ours was his 1st time. After having completed the number of minimum members, Fachry quits his former band, "KANIA", and the band had to make up a name, then, they ended up on "Goatsweat". It was not an ordinary name at all, even weird to some, but they agreed to use it after inspired by a myth that goat's sweats can actually grows your beards rapidly, up to now the myth remains an enigma to the band members, and to you, well, probably.. Fachry, Gerald, Itcnk, Didit and Ary jammed variety of alternative and metal songs, mostly from Incubus and Deftones. Initially, they focused on playing music that they are passionate about, while trying to identify the genre that suits Goatsweat.
Meanwhile, They all lived in various places in KL, therefore, the distance and transports were the main barriers, however, against all odds, the band remained steadfast and focused on figuring out the identity and the color of the band. However, under the name of Goatsweat, the band had not played any gigs anywhere. Unfortunately, not long after that, Ary had to depart the band, due to his graduation and career in professional business. Therefore, the band had to look for a supersub, while gearing up their level of musicianship by composing their own songs. "My Doubt Upon You" was the 1st song composed by the band, doubling up the success, Didit's high-school friend and old bandmate from Jakarta, Named Mamad, came and being introduced to the band.
Mamad was involved in an Emo band in Bandung, called "Killed by Butterfly" ;as an additional player. He has a lot of exposures in the indie scene in Bandung and Jakarta, despite that, he's also good in composing songs and melody. The band finally married to him and worked together to compose our own songs. They also decided to name our band "ELEANOR" which is inspired from a movie titled "Gone in 60 Seconds" in which "Eleanor" is the name of a car which is fast, mysterious, and indomitable and they feel that it is easier to characterize a name of a person like "Eleanor" with their own definitions, rather than using name of things, a renowned character, or a sentence like "Slapped by my sister" or anything else. Within that period of time, Itcnk's former band dispersed, and He became a true blue Eleanor Since Mamad's arrival, they managed to compose "Fight Back", "Lagu Curhat", and "Tak Sempurna" and due to anxiousness and curiousity of releasing a Demo Album, They did a semi-track recording of 3 songs mentioned above plus "My doubt Upon You".They also worked with Soraya in "Lagu Curhat", the very first friend and fan of them (love u girl!!), she featured in that song.
After all, It was not really a great sounding album, but yet it helped them to discover their true colors as a band and to figure out their direction musically. Since then, they performed in numerous appearances in Malaysia, including winning runner-ups in 2 prominent battle of the bands named Lim kok wing Uni's Glitz and KUTPM band competitions in which top Malaysian indie bands were involved. Eleanor was one of those few bands which played their own songs and received warm responses. In 2008, They recorded 5 songs, named "Jakarta Dreams", "Anti-Love Songs","Clay", "Good for You", and "Peace With The Devil", at home with all necessary equipments and skills that they got and at Sonic studio for drum and vocals. Those songs are results of self-discovery and evolution of Eleanor and the sound of Eleanor began to take shape since then. Hence, they passed 2 songs, "Jakarta Dreams" and "Anti-Love Songs" to be mixed by JD of "Popshuvit" and mastered by Nick Lee of Ark Studio.
Eleanor is thrilled, honored and proud to be able to be assisted by these prominent figures in Malaysian music scene, and the results are available here and downloadable in our Myspace Page. Eleanor's next plan, in line with the spirit of thinking globally, is to do a massive promotions and perform in a lot of gigs especially in Malaysia and in our home country, Indonesia. While seeking chances to penetrate international markets through internet and community networks. Eleanor is also looking for a Manager and a recording label that share the same passions and visions. Therefore, applicants shall send their mails to our email or here on Facebook. PS : OUR SONGS ARE DOWNLOADABLE FOR FREE, Just Click "BUY NOW" on the music player (it's actually Free!!)
