e-sin was started in 1999 by j. adam morris as an industrial act. he began his sequencing on old tracker-style programs as something to offset small-town boredom, but was quickly consumed by this exciting new world of electronica. after comparisons to idm staples like autechre and topping the industrial charts at the long-gone mp3.com, e-sin felt the need for more of a challenge and shifted his focus away from his gothy beginnings and turned toward more complex and intricate compositions.

the end result being a dark, brooding, but decidedly melodic style that's a perfect soundtrack to a cold, late-autumn thunder storm or the end of a long, tiring day. thematically focused on regret, aging memories of better times, and hope for a brighter future, e-sin's sound is a complex mixture of garbled samples, scattered clicks and pops, and minor-key melodies, all held tightly together with careful kick drum placement. drawing influences from a wide range of genres, there's a little of something for everyone in there. you just have to find it.
