In April of the year 2003, Sérgio Ivo received a call for scheduling a gig with is band of the moment “JaFunk”, and none of his musicians were available for that date, but as he was going nuts for the anxiety of performing in any stage, he didn’t want to loose that opportunity. Immediately he called is friend and composer Nuno Andrade, with whom he already had shared is own hearth saying he was dying for playing live, so the answer was obviously “Yes!” for starting something new. Immediately he called is friend and composer Nuno Andrade, with whom he already had shared is own hearth saying he was dying for playing live, so the answer was obviously “Yes!” for starting something new. So they both started to work in the search for new sounds and riffs to later become songs, the song “Fel” resulted as their first achievement. New members were needed… So the first contacts with other musicians were vital and crucial for the essence of the band. Pedro Ivo was the first choice to play the bass, since he worked with is brother in almost every band he was in too. His method of working and excellence to everything he does, with be very important to get some musical consistency. In the drums Ruizinho Carvalho, he was versatile and able to do a bit of everything, so as they were sailing for a sound it would be very important to have someone whom could be working in the same ship. The other vital piece was Hugo Florencio, the man who breathed music all the time of the day.

He had a recognized gift and we knew that is last word to any of the music’s would be very important. The first concert they had scheduled would never happen, but two more suddenly appeared. The first Dêsso concert was on 10/May/2003 in Setubal, and was presented with they’re rocker side. In 17/Nov/2003 Loures they had their first concert with the harmonica fellow, the long time friend and “resident invited” of the band Ruben Santos, that later become one of the members adding an extreme joy and power. In the day 05/Jun/2004 following a gag the name “Dêsso Blues Gang” stayed finally settled. The search for the sound came to an end in the summer of 2004 precisely in 16 of July, when they made the setup for a concert in Bairro Alto, the Blues with be the way to follow. It was the line of the Mississippi and Memphis Blues, that they would breathe and interpreter in their own way of the Tejo and Luis de Camões language.
