So he decided to learn to play music by himself. He started to sing in school singing Benny B and the songs of Snow's Ragga Muffin. Everything changed when he heard the voice of "Boyz II Men" on the radio, he began to love their music and by the way he discovered other artist of the same genre, and this helped him a lot. He wrote his first song at the age of 15 for a girlfriend, a love song entitled “Dreaming of You ". At the age of 18, Denis Larose made a step in the field of hotel animation with an A Cappella group "Back 2 You".
While taking the place of a singer in the group who left the country, he learned to play piano alone. He later created his own A Cappella group named “5 Piece Harmony”. In 1999, Denis Larose participated in a singing and composition competition named "Tremplin" organized by Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation while he still sang with a group at the hotel. Denis Larose was forced to leave the Hotel animation’s group who did not want him to participate in the competition.
But the sacrifice worth as he won the second prize with the song "I really do" written and produced by Denis Larose himself. Then he was approached by a label and began to work in several hotels. In 2001, Denis Larose continued to write songs and make a song for Wannadoo Productions for a tropical compilation. Working for Wannadoo Productions, this opened his eyes on a new horizon that is to produce his own music. Denis Larose needed a helping hand, but he still lives with his idea of helping other artists by giving them facilities to sing in a home recording studio. Four years later Cassiya Productions propose Denis Larose to make an album.
With a humble computer and outdated software, Denis Larose makes a demo for the label and they appreciated it. Denis Larose did all the musical arrangements on the album. Following the release of “Ene Zour”, Denis Larose signed with the record label 'Cassiya Productions'. As time passes Denis Larose continued to learn more and more. In 2007, Denis Larose produced "Princess Ebony" debut album under Denis Larose’s own record label called "Ylagam Records".
As his brother was always active in his group “5 Piece Harmony” that he created, he decided to make the A Cappella which he really loves. In 2011, he composed titles such as "Differens" and "Sanz twa." Then he met a longtime friend, Eric Rima, known by the stage name of Eric Carter. The latter, who already knows an international reputation, decided to produce the album of Denis Larose, entitled "ACAP" (diminutive of A Cappella) under his label E-R Music Record Ltd. The album features 10 tracks, including eight A Cappella and two instrumentals. Denis Larose does everything himself - voice, arrangements and recording – at his recording studio “Ylagam Records” with the help of his brother Kersley, who provides the bass vocal parts.
"I think positive and my songs reflect my state of mind." This is how Denis Larose sums up his second studio album “ACAP”, officially launched on 1st June 2012. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
