Death by Snoo Snoo
It was titled “EP”, and it consisted for example of singer Hanne’s peculiar melodica-arrangements and cat’s meowing in the bursting ‘Cat Song’. The band composed some more material and recorded them somewhat rapidly. In the fall of 2008 guitarist Hanna left the band as she moved to Southern Finland. A new guitarist, Heidi, joined the band which played its first gig with her in May 2009. The group kept on touring, for example in the young but legendary Helsinki Punk Festival, but publishers for the recorded material were nowhere to be found.
Because of that, the band released the songs of the album, which was titled ‘LP’, in the Internet and by publishing small DIY-cassette editions which were sold at gigs. In the summer of 2010 also Heidi left the band as she too moved to Southern Finland. Shortly yet another guitarist, Laura, joined the band which began to write new material immediately. At that moment the language of the lyrics was changed to Finnish. New songs emerged quickly and they were worked on in the rehearsal place and at gigs.
This time the whole band took part in the writing process, as earlier the compositions were mainly done by the bassist, Lauri. Consequently the new material was more diverse than before and it was recorded during the summer and fall of 2011. The band was satisfied with the songs and after Turvallisen tyylikästä –EP was released in the internet, the band decided to release the new album by themselves. The album ‘Tästä saat!’ was released on 20th of April 2012 and it was celebrated with a special gig in the band’s hometown, Oulu.
