Even so he was originally hired as audio engineer he soon started composing for various producers of NFL Films, for features, highlight films and weekly magazines. A change of work that he has in common with Tom Hedden, who was hired in 1990 by NFL Films. In 1994, already having won an Emmy for his work at NFL Films, David Robidoux moved to the music department to concentrate on scoring full time. At NFL Films Robidoux and Hedden frequently both provide score tracks for major features and collaborate on the final result.

To name just a few there are TNT's "75 Seasons: The History of The NFL", "Six Days to Sunday", "Big Game America", "Football America", HBO's "Unitas", ESPN's "Sports Century" and "Emmith Smith: Run with History". By the end of the 2001 tv-season the two had won a total of three Emmys in 5 years! David Robidoux and Tom Hedden are frequently credited with the renaissance of NFL Films' music, which had fallen from view after Sam Spence had ended his carreer. The most comprehensive collection of their work available so far is the 10-CD-set "Autumn Thunder - 40 Years of NFL Films Music", which also includes numerous tracks by Sam Spence.
