Intensity, passion, spontaneity and emotional involvement of the audience: their 2 hours live show caters to the listener a rich menu based on swing, blues, soul, funk, rhythm 'n' blues and mambo! In 2009 they realeased their debut album Bluesjob produced by Dave Moretti in Bottleneck studio (Turin). The album feature some classic tunes by Ray Charles, Percy Mayfield and Little Walter that had been finely tuned night after night out on the road over the last years. Thus in the cd you can find also some new songs written by Dave and Damir, trying to find their own way. Joined by specials guest like, they're ready to hit the road again promoting their work! Dave Moretti blues revue today plays most of the important venues of Northern Italy and takes part in important blues festivals (like the “Gilgamesh blues festival” held annually in their hometown, Turin), sharing the stage with blues giants as the legendary Sonny Rhodes, Nico Wayne Toussaint, Kellie Rucker, Mark Hummel, Jerry Portnoy, Mark Dufresne, Jono Manson, Amar Sundy, Gail Muldrow, Steve Harvey, Carvin Jones and Brian Templeton.
In 2007, the band played at the third national Mini Rally Racing and in 2008 the blues revue has been the house band of the jazz club “Le Ginestre” in Turin, playing once a month for a year with special guests. In 2009 they have been invited, as headliner, to the "Nothin' but the blues festival" in Volpiano city. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Despite of their young age, the musicians have a great personal experience on stage. The leader Dave Moretti, plays as a sessionman with a lot of blues & soul band in the Piedmont area and he performed in Italy, Germany, France and Switzerland. He shared the stage with some important name of the blues scene as Dario Lombardo, Joe Pitts, Watermelon Slim & the Workers, Andrea Scagliarini, Pat Savage, Gabriel Delta & the Hurricane, Angelo Leadbelly Rossi, Marcello Milanese, David Gore & The Cell.
As a solo artist, he took part at the Italian final of the International Blues Challenge 2007, playing at the Rootsway Festival in Parma. In 2009 he performed at the official presentation in Turin of the Luigi Monge’s bestseller book “Robert Johnson. I got the blues”. He also opened the show and played on stage with Hook Herrera (Californian harmonica player of Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule, Willy Deville e Jimmy Vaughan), during his 2006 Italian Tour.
In 2007 he played at the famous southern rock open air festival Rock Im Spreewald in Germany, with Bruce Brookshire (Doc Holiday’s leader). His harp playing is featured on the Voodoo Lake’s album “Flowers in the sand” (2005) and in the new cd of Max Arrigo & Shangai Noodle Factory “Second Nature” (2009), as a special guest with Jono Manson and Joe Pitts. Emanuele Pavone, began playing bass at the age of 14 and he studied with many jazz teachers as Dino Contenti, Jino Touche (sessionman for the world-renowned songwriter Paolo Conte), Alessandro Maiorino, Fabio Gurian e Guido Scategni. Now he works with the important music school of Turin “Scuola Civica di musica del Comune di Torino”. He has shared the stage with Italian jazz luminaries as Patrizia Pellegrino, Guido Canavese, Paolo Ricca, Giampiero Capozzoli, Beppe Bima e Mattia Barbieri. Damir Nefat has improved his technical skills in the most important Italian school of modern music CPM in Milan, graduating with honours.
He doubled Valentino Rossi, as a guitar player, in Italian Fastweb’s advertising. He won a lot of music challenges and works also as a duo with Dave Moretti in most of the restaurant and bar of the Turin’s area. Alessio Sanfilippo began to study drums when he was 13 with Giorgio Gandino. He shared the stage with famous Italian jazz musician like Davide Liberti, Pino Russo, Silvano Borgatta, Luigi Tessarollo, Jose Perfetto and he toured around Italy with the Official Italian Beach Boys’ tribute band “Sunny Boys”. http://www.myspace.com/davemorettibluesrevue Read more on Last.fm.
