Oh, the stories he was told! When the Great Change swept over the lands, he escaped doom inside a geigenwerk. As the instrument was passed down for centuries, by a legion of talented hands, he lived, hidden within - meditating upon the sounds of the strings and spinning gears.
One bright morning, merely a few hundred years ago, the thing around his neck, which was much like a mechanical watch but not, began to thrive.
