www.dannygorman.com Danny Gorman sings of bellhops and maids, of white white parkas and green apple eyes. His modern folk music is distinguishable by his unique vocal delivery, rhythmic guitar playing, and his love of language, often relying on unconventional rhymes, palindromes and dreamlike imagery to tell his strange tales. Born in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, Danny's mother is originally from the Northeast of England and his father is of Irish descent. Influenced by British bands like the Cure, Morrissey and Pulp, Danny relocated to London, England, to further develop his sound as a solo artist, later returning to Toronto to attend the Ontario College of Art. Once back in Canada Danny formed “InUniform”, an indie rock outfit made up of an eclectic, ever-changing lineup that would back Gorman for the next few years. InUniform gained a strong fan base, playing to packed venues such as the Rivoli and the Drake Hotel.

The band played two consecutive showcases at the prestigious North by North East Festival as well as the invitation-only What's in the Box Fest, creating a momentum that led to a feature interview in Fuel Magazine and their song, Sea Song, being licensed to the internationally award-winning Canadian short film, Perennial. Danny Gorman is currently putting the final touches on his first solo EP which was recorded in an old converted church called Catherine North Studios. He called upon the help of Juno nominee, Paul Aucoin (Hylozoists, Blue Rodeo, Andre Ethier), and ex-Golden Dog, Michael Chambers (Kathleen Edwards, Luke Doucet, the Spirits), to produce the album which features Constantines’ drummer, Doug McGregor, Cuff the Duke bassist, Paul Lowman, and Hidden Cameras’ violist, Lief Mosbaugh. Danny kicks off the launch of his EP in October with a 5 week European tour spanning England, France and Spain. The self-titled EP will officially be released in November. To support the new album in Canada, Gorman will play a series of guerilla concerts, the first of which will take place on a TTC streetcar in downtown Toronto.
