The original intention was to record a three song demo but the chemistry in the studio was working so well that the band completed ten songs and instead decided to release a full length CD. Damesviolet also landed SXSW 2002 & 2003 showcases. Their first record sold over 3,000 copies and gained them radio play on local stations such as KLBJ, The Mix, and 101X. In February 2004 Damesviolet teamed up with producer John Ryan (Santana, STYX, Wil Seabrook Band) of Los Angeles, CA to create Room 107, the follow up to Damesviolet's first self-titled release. Room 107 is an all-new, edgy record that is taking the band to even higher levels of success in the southern US region.
It encompasses heart-felt lyrics combined with modern rock progressions and is helping to broaden Damesviolets fan base. Damesviolet is composed of striking young individuals, who, together, meld into a "wall of sound" that can hold its own to the most seasoned of musical veterans. It is the songs that set Damesviolet apart from most other bands.
