Damage Bouquet is a Portland based 3-piece that takes a step away from the city’s indie rock reputation, instead using post punk, new wave, and garage to create a sound that takes you into a whole new kind of right direction. Old and new really do merge together, not just in sound, but in band members. Tim Clift and Alec Burton have been friends and bandmates for years. Burton was in Sado-Nation before the two met and became part of the hit 80’s band, Confidentials. Local rock historian SP Clarke writes in his history of this city’s rock scene that Confidentials were the first real challenge to the rock supremacy of Billy Rancher’s Unreal Gods (a very big deal at the time) and played alongside Billy Idol, Adam Ant, English Beat, Oingo Boingo, X, and more.

Thanks to a chance callout via Craigslist and beers at Stammtisch, a trio spanning the ages was united and the beast that is Damage Bouquet was born. With Damage Bouquet, “old Portland” and “new Portland” come together for a post-punk sound that’s fresh but familiar. Read more on Last.fm.
