In 2006, he began formal vocal training and artist development, honing his strong vocal and his songwriting. In July, at just 20 years old, Dakota caught the attention of industry professional Grace Cartwright and was offered a full management/publicity deal with Wonderment Entertainment just before he began touring nationwide, playing at various venues all over the United States. In October, Dakota began working on a brand new project with collaborators including Conrad Johnson (from Christian duo, Chris & Conrad) which debuted in the iTunes top 100 chart for Christian/Gospel. His EP received praises from major Christian media outlets such as New Release Tuesday and was featured in the June issue of CCM Magazine.
The debut single “All I Wanna Know” ranked in the top 20 on the CRW Global AC charts. He is poised to make his mark on the music world, bringing a conscious fusion of Contemporary-Christian and Synth-Pop to the industry. Influenced by The Fray, Owl City and others, Dakota hopes to not only make incredible music but also encourage other young people to pursue their dreams as well. He believes God has called him to be a light to the broken dreamers of this generation, Dakota says, “The bigger your potential in the Kingdom of God, the harder Satan will attack you.
I want to encourage those who have a calling on their life to never give up, no matter what the world throws their way.” He has come a long way from that little boy with big dreams, but he still has the passion and drive that carried him to where he is today; on the brink of a career overflowing with promise.
