Daijobu

The band Daijobu has been around for years although a couple of pieces have changed along the way. The band Daijobu has been around for years although a couple of pieces have changed along the way. The two guitarists, Travis Saint Julian and Ryan Ready, had been playing with Nohl Takahashi (vocals) in the previous incarnation of Daijobu. The band broke up in 2000 and Nohl moved to Japan to pursue other music interests. Travis and Ryan never stopped writing songs together and never stopped looking for a good rhythm section. Matt Holdredge (drums) and Josh Steinberg (bass) had been playing together in the band Frontside for several years until their breakup in 2001.

When Matt and Josh jammed with old friends Ryan and Travis, something magical happened. They quickly began writing together, but they were still missing a vocalist. When their buddy Nohl came back to the states to visit and the five got together to jam, the chemistry was immediate and undeniable. Nohl moved back and the reincarnation of Daijobu was complete. The next step in getting the ball rolling was to record a demo, so the band employed Matt's brother Dave Holdredge to produce.

Dave's credits include digital editing for the last two Incubus albums, Hoobastank, Reel Big Fish, and the new Saliva album. Dave was excited to be involved with the new Daijobu, and a three-song demo was recorded in April 2002. The music covers a wide spectrum of sound from loud and grinding to melodic and seductive. Best of all is the refreshing sound of music that's real....

music that doesn't imitate....music that springs from the hearts of its makers. Daijobu is a serious bunch of musicians whose purpose is to rock!
