He sometimes raps but mostly sings soul and is one of the first artists that sings reggae and raggamuffin in the Persian language. He studied guitar and played for several artists, mostly coming from Jamaica. He has also played melodies and produced various tracks for known R&B and rap artists from Germany and abroad. The second member of the band Kaaveh, started rapping in German, French and English in 1998 and has since had several gigs on the German hip hop and jazz set. Since 2003, he has rapped with his own live hip-hop band.

Together Mehty and Kaaveh began the innovative use of Persian lyrics once they began recording their own album in 2005. Their aim is to introduce Persian hip-hop, soul, reggae and raggamuffin with party lyrics as well as conscious and critical content to a broader audience.
