However, "The Plastic Cups" never reformed, as all of it's former members matured over the year apart. It wasn't until the spring of 2005 when he met with Melvin Rubio (Li'l Rubio) and immediately created an a cappella group named "The Flukes". Like "The Plastic Cups" before, The Flukes favored performing in public places when the time called for it, yet their music was much nicer and family oriented. Summer 2006 was the time in which Benjamin and Melvin were featured in an internet radio network named "Midweek Radio".
Benjamin, taking on the name "DJ Katon", hosted a segment named "The Flukes Showdown", in which him and Rubio would create one a cappella piece a week and have them faced against each other, giving the audience the vote on which is better. This segment spawned DJ Katon's solo works as they are today. Later when he was accepted onto the Radio PSI team at Starmen.Net, he and Stephen Georg created "Fobbies are Borange", a radio play encompassing the story of the SNES game, EarthBound. Benjamin enrolled at Longwood University in Virginia, going for a Music Education major. After his first semester he realized that this decision was an outright terrible one, and trudged through his second semester painfully, then aspiring to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design as a Sound Design major, hoping to make a career out of his music making and creative audio hobbies.
