DAN is three stoned guys armed with a tascam 8 track, a drum machine, and a few guitars and microphones who strive for the most obnoxious sound they could possibly make. It's dirty punk rock with all the fat cut out. It all started mid 2009 when Greenville, SC's freaky musician, known as Dables got together with another local punk/funk/lo-fi psychedelia band called The Albino Porch Monkeys and over many bong hits and beer cans, potato chips, and camradrie, the three guys: David, Sid, and Clayton decided to form a new band. They then got together in Sid's Basement, thusly dubbed "The Basement", where Sid and Clayton lived, as well as an ever-rotating plethora of hippies, stoners, punks, freaks, and weirdos who were always stopping by and jamming out with DAN.

There was cats everywhere, the couches smelled funny, it had a dirty concrete floor, no ceiling only pink insulation, and posters and artwork EVERYWHERE. This is where they recorded their first three albums, which are now instant cult-classics known as "The Basement Trilogy." In September 2009, they recorded and released their first album, "Magic Mountain", a 25 track smorgasbord of genre-hopping psychedelic weird-o punk rock. Exactly two ounces of marijuana were smoked during it's recording, and at least 40 beers were drank, all of it done in Sid's parents house cold-ass basement. Almost immediately DAN recorded "The Whatever EP" in October 2009, which was an about-face in musical style, with only six tracks each clocking in at over 12 minutes apiece. This is a progressive, noise/psychedelic epic jam.

Not for the faint of heart, which is why it wasn't released until Spring 2010. In February 2010, DAN had finished recording their third album, "Grandparents Forever", 26 songs of short, psychedelic punk/funk/metal/rock/noise/stuff! The band considers this their best album thus far, and is a fan-favorite. DAN had begun work on a new, as-of-yet untitled album, when in the summer of 2010, Sid and Clayton had to move out of "The Basement", our practice space, our hippie dungeon, our art factory. Even though they are only about a mile down the street, they lost a proper place to practice loudly, sort of slowing down the rate at which DAN could record new songs.
