Corey is also a musician and composer whose musical soul is rooted in the folk revival of the 60s. He was the only kid in his high school who listened to Blind Lemon Jefferson, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Brownie McGee and Sonny Terry for a start.

When he wasn’t acting, he spent his Hollywood years (1971-78) recording his songs on a Teac 4 track. The emergence of digital recording technology has him recording again, 30 years later. This time he’s bringing together his love of language, storytelling and his fascination with rhythm. meter and rhyme to create a series of hybrid vocal pieces that may be hard to categorize.

Not Hip-Hop or spoken word poetry, but sharing elements of each, these pieces reveal the natural rhythms of speech in a growing series that fuses meaning, memory and musicality. He’s also an experienced improviser, an award-winning playwright and a published author. For more, visit www.coreyfischer.com Read more on Last.fm.
