Influenced by the alternative and piano-pop scene, CSD strives to create music that reflects their roots while implementing dual vocal talents and musicianship along with a performance-motivated mentality. Consisting of two main vocalists (Richie Lyon and Jeremy Sigrist), their songs have dynamic vocals with layered harmonics and an intricate sing-to/sing-back relationship. CSD creates music that builds an adrenaline driven atmosphere while implementing the brightness of piano/acoustic guitar and displaying vocal range. The essence of a band started with Jake Ulatowski and Kevin Wolffersdorff who performed together for nearly a decade as kids before starting an original project after meeting lead singer Richie Lyon at a concert at The Rave in Milwaukee in 2010. Jeremy Sigrist was a significant addition for both piano and vocals in order for the group to implement their love of piano, strings, and synth [as inspired by their love for bands such as Something Corporate, Augustana, Parachute, and Relient K to name a few].
Lyon’s roommate in junior year of college at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, bassist Taylor Siegworth, joined the group in 2012. The various backgrounds of the group include church performance, alternative rock, pop rock, and classic rock - each of these elements are displayed in their songs. Coldspring Drive released their freshman music video "Lullaby" in December of 2010 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=as3B14hmF3Y). The video preceded the eventual album "Such Is Life" released in June 2012, which includes the single and is available on iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, and many other major online distributors. Notable singles include "Rooftops", "C'est La Vie", and "Room In My Heart" which have all received radio play.
"Rooftops" is expected to be used in an upcoming film and most of the album's songs are licensed under APM Music via Cherry Pit Publishing. Keep an ear out for Coldspring Drive on the tube as their publishing has recently hit the market. Southeastern Wisconsin has grown fond of Coldspring Drive. They have performed at Summerfest (2011, 2012) which is touted as the world's largest music festival. Other venues include The Rave, Miramar Theater, and various smaller venues in the Milwaukee area.
