In 1980 she travelled abroad busking and learning to play guitar in the Paris metro and streets as well as several long trips in Spain, Portugal, France and Holland. In the mid 1980's Clarissa took up the saxophone and began busking in Amsterdam brown bars, the metro and streets. 1988 she joined Zumbar, African dance music, in Peterborough. In the late 80's early 90's Clarissa was a ubiquitous saxophonist busker on Cathedral Square, Peterborough.

Then she sold her house and went off on a little boat on a big journey which ended up in west Africa, hundreds of miles up the River Gambia, where she played with the Baatin Band. Currently she is living in Suffolk, United Kingdom, on a boat where she produces rock, easy listening and uneasy listening. She is the saxophonist in the Barry Kingston Trio gigging regularly in East Anglia. Clarissa teaches saxophone and guitar in Woodbridge, Suffolk. Read more on Last.fm.
