Sometimes they gave solo’s to Chopy. She won the first price at school at a singing contest and she used to sang on music performances at school. When she was 13 years she took singing lessons for 2 years and started taking keyboard lessons as well. When she was 16 years old she went to the Academy in Cologne (Germany) to start singing in Kurdish.
There she studied under the supervision of the Kurdish music teacher Mr. Wirya Ahmad. She performed on stage for the first time in The Hague, The Netherlands in 2000. Her first performance in Kurdistan was in a coir with Koma Berxwedan at a festival for approximately 100.000 people in a football stadiun; there, she learned a lot.
At the age of 16 she participated for the first time in a TV-program titled "Shanasin" ("Shanisheen") on MedyaTV. After this she did more television performances. Chopy’s songs are played on all the Kurdish TV stations such as KTV, Medya TV and Kurdsat. Her first CD was released under supervision of Mr.
Burhan Mofti in 2003. In 2007, she released her second CD titled Nawit Denem Zino and in 2010 she released her last CD titled Crystal. Chopy has held many concerts in various countries around the world. Mostly in European countries like Germany, Sweden, the UK, Holland, Norway, Austria and Greece, but also in other countries like in the Ukraine, The United States, Canada and the United Arab Emirates. Chopy is in the Kurdish populated areas of Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Armenia one of the most famous singers and has sold thousands of her CDs around the world.
The unique on Chopy is that she is known in all parts of Kurdistan and therefore she has made many concerts around the area like the ones of Batman, Erbil, Qamishlo, Sulaimaniyah and Kirkuk. Chopy was also one of the first singers to perform in the Iraqi-Kurdish city of Kirkuk, where the safety condition is still bad, but because of the love of Chopy to her own city she performed before many of her fans.
