Chaotic Youth

The band hailed from Beith in Ayrshire, Scotland and formed in 1980. I was the drummer. Our first ever rehearsal was in my dads garage and I didn't have any drum sticks for my new drum kit which my old man bought me for xmas (40 quid) so I used my mother's wooden spoons...........honestly. The police broke up the rehearsal too, which was comedy. we played loads in the local area and eventually signed to Blackpools Lightbeat records in 1982, recording a 3 track ep Sad Society which is on this site. I think our advance was 50 quid and a crate of piss weak beer. The tracks were recorded at the now defunct Ric Rac studios in leeds. The band split when 2 of the members Ian and Tommy Wallace moved to London and the bass player Ricky Maguire joined The Fits at this point and I joined External Menace for a couple of years before moving to London myself where I have been ever since playing with loads of bands and doing sessions for years until I stopped making music in about 2006. I believe that Ian and Tommy both moved back to Beith and Ricky is still in London and has been in bands such as The Men they couldn't hang and various others of that genre. I'm not in touch with any of the other members, but it would be cool to meet up again if anyone knows how to contact them? I can be reached at pikeybastard007@hotmail.com cheers John Hamilton Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
