Cayelle's influences are diverse and include The National, Elliott Smith, The Cure, REM, Idlewild, Bloc Party, Jackson C. Frank, Richard Thompson, Joy Division and Magnetic Fields. Their history is long and complicated, with Owen and Jon having played together since 2000. They, along with fellow schoolmates from Calday Grange Grammar School, performed under the names Tainted Memorial and Airborne before acquiring Fredi on vocals in 2004 to become Speakeasy.

Speakeasy continued to gig around Liverpool in the holiday time while its members were attending four different universities across the UK. In mid 2007 young Trev replaced long-time drummer Graham Brereton while Rob, an ever increasing presence in the band in recent years, was incorporated and they adopted the current name of Cayelle. Graham returned to take up the position of drummer again in early 2009. In late 2007 the band recorded their current three-track demo at the Wirral Recording & Rehearsal Studio, West Kirby, and anticipate the recording of further material in 2008. http://www.myspace.com/cayelle Read more on Last.fm.
