For instance: "What would it sound like if Karp grew up listening to Darkthrone?" or "What would it sound like if Jeff Walker from Carcass fronted a more-Black Sabbath obsessed version of Cursive?" These are no age-old questions of yours you say? Well, they were for these five young men and they've certainly began to put imaginations to the test. | Self-releasing a 9-song full-length, 'Into Bolivian' last year (a loose concept album painting 9 separate vignettes of the band's favorite schizophrenics and borderline personality cases...including Mike Tyson, no less), the band drew ham-fisted attempts at comparison/description such as "Sonic Youth jamming with Satan," or "a blackened 28 Days Later jig as performed by interplanetary acid-smuggling gore pirates," as Metal Maniacs put it. In the process of opening up a new musical world where it would be totally cool for Sunny Day Real Estate, Emperor and Fu Manchu to share a bill together, the band also attracted the attention of fledgling label impresario Philip H.

Anselmo (he was also in some band from Texas for most of the 90's), who decided to release the bands follow-up to 'Into Bolivian', 'Dear Entrails...' (its name, as well as the album itself, an open-letter response to a reviewer who described 'Into Bolivian' as the audio equivalent of a "dead deer's entrails on the side of the road") on his freshly minted Housecore Records. | The band is currently gaining notoriety for taking its raucous stage-shows --generally ending with vocalist Zak Warren howling from inside a garbage can while the band, consisting of guitarists Cale Sauter and Brad van Staveren, bassist Craig Horky and drummer John Bruce, often lays waste to their already duct-taped-together-from-the-previous-show instruments-- anywhere and everywhere (including dates with Eyehategod, Jucifer, Zoroaster, Atlas Moth, Down, etc.) in anticipation of the 2011 release of 'Dear Entrails...'
