cathy Crescendo (cC for short) originally started in St Cloud, Minnesota as Jacob Champlin's solo side project from his band Allies in Chaos sometime in 2005. Champlin wanted to write about, for, and with the people with whom he came into contact day to day. One of the first cC songs was penned by Champlin and his younger sister and titled "Grace and I". It wasn't long before Champlin's friend Thomas joined in offering back up vocals and guitar. The project was no longer a solo gig. Read more on Last.fm

The project was no longer a solo gig. Following Thomas were Gwen (keys, back up vox), Brett (4-strings, back up vox), and Anna (cello). The band released their first CD entitled "Giant Killers" on April 20th, 2007 at the Java Joint in St Cloud, Mn. Their second CD, "The Bright Branching," was released on January 3rd, 2009 at The Vault in Buffalo, Mn.
