Singer-songwriter Caroline Harrison is a raw talent. Her live performances really do draw the audience’s undivided attention. She has a pure beautiful voice with songs that touch upon every emotion but it is also her distinct guitar style and effortless delivery that set her apart. Caroline has been playing solo for some months now and has already created interest from local press and wider audiences. Born in Maidstone, Kent on 19th August 1981, Caroline began to experiment with musical soundscapes from a young age, often inventing and noting down melodies while creating a world for them to exist in. She recalls " Mum and Dad bought me a keyboard one Christmas, I think I must have been about ten, I can remember writing songs using the tracks already programmed in. Writing a love song for my pet gerbil Ruby backed by Unchained Melody was one I will never forget!" Caroline grew up listening to the sounds of Tamla Motown, Mama Cass, Otis Reading and Tina Charles (a particular favorite of her Dad). " I was a very active little girl apparently, Mum would find the only way to keep me entertained was to sit me on the Hoover and play Dusty Springfield and all the Motown Classics, which I seemed to enjoy.

It must have sunk in somewhere as I know all the words to so many songs I have never bought myself". In 1997, Caroline moved to Pembrokeshire, West Wales which led her to front the band Kamiskaze encompassing styles from African High Life to Soul, Funk and Jazz. The group enjoyed popularity in the late 1990's while Caroline was studying for a degree at Aberystwyth University. "Wales has been a very strong musical influence, I have been blessed to have such inspirational surroundings". After graduating Caroline spent some time giving singing lessons. "I absolutely loved teaching, all of my pupils were taking lessons because they really wanted to express themselves through song and find their voice, it was so rewarding". Caroline continued to sing with Kamiskaze at festivals and venues in South Wales until late in 2005. "We were a great festival band, as a group we had a fantastic energy and very catchy tunes, but we all wanted very different things in life. I left knowing exactly what I wanted". It was at this point that Caroline picked up the guitar and began work on her solo material. "I had so many melodies in my head, I had to have a way to express them which is why I started to play the guitar, it was a tool with which to turn the ideas into songs". It wasn't long before Caroline took to the music circuit in Wales, quickly making a name for herself and gaining interest from Local press.

"Caroline is a very busy and very talented Solo Artist" as stated by The Tenby Observer. Caroline has spent time working with Film Composer/Producer George Kallis on her latest tracks. "George is a very talented composer, we worked very well together and I am sure we will collaborate again in the future". 2008 is a very exciting year for Caroline. Having relocated to London and already busy on the London music scene she is most definitely here to make her mark. Her track 'Evidence' was recently featured as 'Demo of the Week' on BBC Radio Wales and she will be traveling back to Wales in August to play at The Tenby Folk Festival. Caroline will be performing at various dates over the coming months so be sure to catch one of her live shows. "I am really excited, I am a firm believer that if your on the right path, things will fall into place, my music has already taken me on a fantastic journey and I can't wait to see what the future holds, watch this space....".
