In 2001 Sam's younger cousin Jon introduced Sam to the nu skool breaks sound and C83 was born... Both have been keen vinyl collectors since an early age and have crates of early 80's Electro, vintage Chicago House and Garage, UK Hardcore, Jungle, old skool hip hop and of course breakbeat of every flavour. These influences are highly evident in their productions which combine what they feel are some of best elements of all these genres. Since 2001 C83 have released a number of original tracks and remixes on top breaks labels en:vision, W9Y, Sound not Scene and Default and have featured in the sets of the scenes top DJs. Tracks have also been licenced to compilations on React, Fabric and Nascent. 1983 to them was a never to be repeated watershed in the evolution of electronic music.
Hashims's "The Soul", Cybotron "Clear", Herbie Hancock's "Rockit", Jonzun Crew "Pack Jam", Man Parrish "Hip Hop Be Bop" to name but a few tore up the rule book and redefined music for ever.
