This Nashville-based rock band (founded 2003) toes the line between folk rock and power pop. They have have been compared to R.E.M., Crowded House, the Byrds and Barenaked Ladies, but have a unique sound from the frequent use of a lead mandolin or cello. They have never toured nationally, but have have become well known from AAA radio play of their 4 studio and 2 live albums and free distribution of their album "Love Survives" on their website. Brother Henry was launched by identical twins David and Ned Henry, born in Macon Georgia who were classically trained in Cello and Violin.

In college, they played guitars in bands with their older brother, Jeff. David moved to Athens (GA) and learned the art of recording from John Keane (REM, Widespread Panic, Cowboy Junkies, Indigo Girls). He now runs True Tone Recording producing and engineering ( Clients include: Guster, David Mead, Vienna Teng, Rod Picott and Josh Rouse) and is one of the most requested studio cellists in Nashville. Ned Henry fronted a rock trio in Austin where he released a solo album, "The Simple and the Beautiful," and won the 1993 Austin Songwriters Song Contest, before moving to Nashville as a studio musician.

There the twins also played as sidemen with groups like the Cowboy Junkies and Guster. Ned and David released their first album "Come On, People" without a label in late 2003. Reviewers highly recommended the CD and it received wide-spread nationwide airplay on AAA radio. David and Ned had no band to tour in support of the CD, so they belatedly recruited a bassist, their older brother Jeff, and a drummer, Park Ellis, for a few shows.

The four Brothers signed with Double Deal Brand Records in late 2004 and re-released "Come on People" and a live album "Live At The Basement", recorded in Nashville. The Brothers released their second studio album "Chasing Happiness" in 2005 with two tracks featuring guest keyboardist Chuck Leavell (Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers.) The CD was well reviewed and received AAA and college radio airplay. The band only toured regionally in support of the release. In 2006, they orchestrated many of the songs and recorded them live with the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra.

They stopped touring in the summer of 2006 and recorded a third studio release, "Love Survives." Love Survives (2007) was not released by Double Deal. Insted they released it for free download on their webbsite, with a higher quality CD being available for purchase. According to their website, "We look at this as radio play without the commercial interruptions. We also believe the more people who hear our music, the better." Ned and David released a Christian studio album "God is Alive" (2009).

In live performance, Brother Henry primarily plays charity events in the Nashville area while occasionally hitting venues in the Southeastern US. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
