There are at least two different artists using the name Bonsai Kitten 1. German ‘killbilly’ band 2. Noise artist from Adelaide, Australia 1. The idea to the band BONSAI KITTEN was founded by the singer Tiger Lilly Marleen from Berlin in 2004.

After a while she could engage three skilled musicians for her female fronted band-project. With Hajo-Sun on guitar, Alexx DeLarge on drums and Krczycz on doublebass BONSAI KITTEN were complete in 2005. Within a wee of time BONSAI KITTEN drew a lot of attention upon their existence. With opening slots for a variety of bands like The Accidents or Battle of Ninjamen and sharing stages with Mad Sin and Demented Are Go, they were playing lots of shows through out Germany with increasing request. In February 2007 they released their self-entitled debut album on the Japanese record label "ON THE HILL".

The splendid sales of the first edition in Japan and Germany displayed their widely international request. That way BONSAI KITTEN were invited to play at the psychobilly festivals „Satanic Stomp“, „Rock My Ass“, „Kings of Psychobilly” and “Wild Wild East” in Germany and the „Bunkerbilly Festival” in Austria. In November 2007 they supported psychobilly icon Mad Dog Cole on his highly awaited solo-album tour. In 2008 and 2009 BONSAI KITTEN played many concerts and festivals, additionally to radio live shows with interviews and features of the band. They opened for The BossHoss, Dick Dale and King Kurt on their European tours and collaborated with Köfte DeVille of Mad Sin in a duet of their track “Done With Hell”.

In 2010 Tiger Lilly Marleen also sang the Intro of the “Mad Sin” album “Burn and Rise”. In February 2011 BONSAI KITTEN released their long awaited second album “DONE WITH HELL” on Wolverine Records and celebrated it duly with a sold out record release party @ Bassy Cowboy Club in Berlin. All in all BONSAI KITTEN sum up to a rock’n’roll driven combo of skilled musicians, who cleverly merge different music styles into a melodic mixture of new-punk, rockabilly and psychobilly to make it their own. They call it "KILLBILLY"! Live all songs are performed with heavy speed and authentic lyrics delivered by a husky alto of a hot, rocking female singer. BONSAI KITTEN is an ambitious band and they do their jobs whole-hearted and with a lot of fun! On August 26, 2011 BONSAI KITTEN will release the hand numbered limited edition of 500 “Done With Hell” LPs in heavy yellow vinyl on Wolverine Records. Read more on Last.fm.
