Musician/ songwriter Bob Beland has a background in music that covers over 36 years in the Los Angeles music scene with such bands as Southpaw ( with Jules Shear), Bate Motel, The Furys, Skin Trade and a solo career that started in the 80's and continues to this day. In 1993 Bob released "AMNESIA LANE," on his own label Seeing i Records. Andre Champagne handled the board and Bob did the rest with help along the way from Peter Curry, Ray Symzyck and Charlie Waltz. Bob has also co-written songs with Peter Curry, currently the bassist/producer for Los Straightjackets, for his surf band The Halibuts. You can hear them on the Halibuts CDs "Chumming" and "Life On The Bottom".

Their compositions have also been included in the movies "Endless Summer 2, "Life During Wartime" and the television series "Clueless". Within the last few years here at his own Wrong Way Works studio Bob did a mercy session with Stew & Heidi from the L.A. indie band the Negro Problem (mercy!), worked with Pal Shazar on some song demos while she was living in Topanga Canyon, and in 2006 recorded a batch of 60's cover songs with Pal & her husband Jules Shear. This year Bob had Jules Shear, Deki Victorino, Ian Hoffman, Severin Browne, Stew & Heidi - who currently have a hit musical running on Broadway that's up for 7 Tony awards called "Passing Stange,", Bob's brother John Beland from the Flying Burrito Bros., Mark Lennon, from the L.A.

band Venice and singer/songwriter/author Doug Powell sing vocals on his latest recording project called "Life Begins..." along with chromatic harmonica legend Tommy Morgan ("Good Vibrations," "Pet Sounds," "Rainy Days & Mondays," "He's Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother," plus "the theme from "Green Acres." Top that Elton!), Los Angeles based classical violinist Paula Kuhr and Furys bassist Richard d'Andrea. "Life Begins.." is on Bob's own Wrong Way Works label and is available at: http://www.myspace.com/bobbelandmusic and also through CD Baby at: http://cdbaby.com/cd/bobbeland2 . Bob Beland is also among the 2600+ songwriters listed on Neil Young's web page devoted to the war in Iraq called "Living With War Today." As of 6/6/08 Bob's song "Wrong Turn" from "Life Begins..." is at # 305. You can check it all out at: http://www.neilyoung.com/lwwtoday/index.html Another first for Bob was having one of his songs," The Rain 'Kept Fallin' ," featured in his brother Tom Beland's popular reality based comic book, "True Stories, Swear To God." Tom is a 2 time Eisner Award nominee and has also written stories for the Simpson's Comics and Spiderman Comic books this year. Tom is dangerous around Kareoke clubs as he is an all pro Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond impersonator. Future projects in the vault from Bob Beland are "Backworks, vols.1 & 2" and the all instrumental project "The Evening Shade." All coming soon on Wrong Way Works.
