The name of the band was coined by the main character of the short story "Blumfeld, ein älterer Junggeselle" ("Blumfeld, an elderly Bachelor") by Franz Kafka. In 2014 the original line-up reunited for a tour to celebrate the 20th anniversity of the release of their album L'etat et moi. It's announced that they will split again after that tour in 2014.
