THE BLACKNIFICENT SEVEN ‘RIDIN’ THRU DA UNDAGROUND’ RELEASE DATE: 21st AUGUST 2006 De La Soul got it wrong when you said three’s the magic number, it’s seven! UK hip hop star Seanie T has assembled an impressive all-star cast for his latest project The Blacknificent Seven. Assembling The Blacknificent Seven as a group took Seanie two years and countless sleepless nights spent talent scouting. However, Seanie T seems to have a knack for bringing people together: his last project on Dark Horizon Recordz ‘Darka Dayz 2’, featured a staggering 30 UK hip hop artists on it’s line up! With The Blacknificent Seven, there’s no doubt that Seanie T has assembled the mightiest hip-hop supergroup of household names and emerging new talent in the form of Skeme, Roots Manuva, Rodney P, Est’elle, Karl Hinds, Jeff 3 and of course the man himself. You may already be familiar with the current Blacknificent 7 singles already tearing up the airwaves; ‘U Wot’ and ‘Ere Come Da Black!’ released earlier this year.

Fresh from the anticipation already created by these tasters, Seanie T looks set to serve up the main course in style with the brand new album ‘Ridin’ Thru Da Underground’, which looks set to do some serious damage this summer! Fans of the singles will be pleased to know that the b-sides ‘Had E-Nuff’ and ‘Mrs ‘Onda’Syde’ also make an appearance on the album. ‘Mrs Onda Syde’ is a tongue in cheek tale about having a bit on the side which most guys out there can relate to! Elsewhere ‘Stay Black’ urges black people to be keeping it real and sees Roots Manuva and Rodney P on form. Est’elle also adds her touch to ‘Ohh Ohh!,’ another track which could easily be a hit single. Look out for fictional character Ard Bastard who turns up to rant on a couple of skits… Press Quotes: The Sunday Times – “Seanie T has broken new ground with this Brit-rap endeavour” New Nation – “Witty, energetic raps that put other MCs to shame.” Echoes – “Seven of the UK’s finest emcees.” IDJ – “Brilliant, will detonate any basement party.” Knowledge – “The first-ever UK Hip Hop supergroup.” Hip Hop Connnection – “Blacknificent 7 … prove that supergroups can be more than just the sum of their parts.” www.darkhorizon.net Read more on Last.fm.
