Formed in 2000, they’ve played with the likes of Wilco, Calexico, Bill Callahan, Aislers Set and Echo & The Bunnymen, among others. They have released three LPs (the baroque “A Spring Of Summers (2003)”, the personal pop masterpiece “Call An Ambulance (2006)”, and their own even-more-personal Sister Lovers-like «Celebrate It All (2010)»), and also a bunch of tracks in the usual tribute and compilation albums.

Some say they rock, some say they’re intelligently indie, some say they’re intense, real and whatnot, some say they’re pure delicuiously crafted sad Alt-Pop. ‘Celebrate It All’ has just been released on I+D Music in CD and vinyl, after Eureka/Naked Man Recordings released ‘The Smiths’, a white vinyl only 7», in 2009. The compilation ‘The Brugal Years’ was released on Grabaciones en el Mar last year too. ‘Call An Ambulance’ was released in 2006 on King Of Patio Records in Spain and Naked Man Recordings in UK/America. A 12” EP for the UK was released too, in 2007. A mere six (uh) years ago ‘A Spring Of Summers’ was released in the US via Happy Happy Birthday To Me and on Grabaciones En El Mar for the rest of the world. Let’s sum up: Celebrate It All LP – (I+D Music, 2010) The Brugal Years 2CD (GELMAR, 2009) The Smiths vs. Finland 7» – (Naked Man/Eureka, 2009) Ex-Snowman 12” EP - (Naked Man, 2007) Call An Ambulance - (KOP, 2006) A Spring Of Summers - (GELMAR, 2003 - HHBTM 2004) Big City: * Francho (batería & coros, samplers / drums & harmonies, samplers) * Carasueño (voz, guitarra, teclados, steel guitar, armónica / vocals, guitar, keys, steel guitar, harmonica) * Miguel (bajo, voz / bass guitar, vocals) * Borja (teclados, guitarra / keyboards, guitar) * Hugo (guitarra, banjo / guitar, banjo) Click: www.myspace.com/bigcitymyspace www.facebook.com/thebigcity ================================================================================= 2.

Big City is almost a full-fledged Beatnuts reunion, with Junkyard Juju replaced by missin link Problemz. Either way, it's nice to hear Al Tariq rockin over an entire album full of Beatnuts production, and Psycho Les still ain't singin like a klutz. More vintage hip hop from Nature Sounds. (information taken from FatBeats.com) More information from (1) Big City: (information taken from Nature-Sounds.net) From their classic Beatnuts albums like Intoxicated Demons, Street Level & Stone Crazy, Take It or Squeeze It, to the underground smashes like Al Tariq's God Connections and Missin Linx's Exhibit A EP, the trio has always been a favorite amonst Hip-Hop fans. Psycho Les, a Hip-Hop veteran and producer extradionaire, has a production record not to be overlooked, boasting clasdic Beatnuts production credits like: Off The Books, Watch Out Now, and No Escapin This. Al Tariq aka Fashion, although some may not know, was a founding member of The Beatnuts and played an important role in the group's first 3 Albums.

In 1998, he left the group to pursue a solo career, so this recent formation of Big City is the unofficial reunion of Tariq and Les since the late 90s. Most remember Problemz as a member of the group Missin Linx, as his lyrical double time flow is reminisent of The Golden Era of Hip-Hop. Now for the first time, all three join forces to form Big City. Their groundbreaking album,The City Never Sleeps, consists of 13 hard-hitting tracks with each member going back and forth over beats that all produced by Psccho Les. The humorous trio stays away from telling false stores that many MCs use today to earn street credibility.

Instead, their music tells stores and paints pictures of everyday experiences and fantasies like an unforgettable party, an extremley sexy female, and not to forget that one bottle of alcohol or bag of marijuana that leaves a permanent memory in one's life. Snapping drums, never heard before samples, and funky hors are a quality factor that sticks out in Big City's music, so whether in need for a club banger, a street anthem, or a hood classic --- Big City is your answer! ================================================================================ 3.
