Now armed with a keyboard, Ben began writing more and more songs. Then in 2005 he began to get really serious and took singing and guitar lessons. A move to Melbourne, a demo recorded in a backyard studio with some airplay on community radio and soon Ben’s music was getting noticed. In a case of “it’s not what you know but who you know”, Ben’s demo came to the attention of Sam Panetta via one of the members of indie rock band Kisschasy.
Ben has since recorded five demos with Sam, graduated from FReeZACentral's Mentoring Program (including their Recording Project and Tour Project), played gigs in a wide variety of venues and is now ready to release his first EP. Listening through Ben’s track list is truly pleasant. There is so much diversity in the content of the songs that each one stays fresh in the listener’s mind. The common feature of all tracks is that they create a great surge of uplifting enthusiasm in the listener. All the hard work being produced by someone so young is truly amazing.
Ben McMaster is definitely an artist on the rise to a great, successful career. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
