There are at least two acts with the name Bear Country. 1. While Bear Country’s sound on their debut album “Our Roots Need Rain” (2006) features the catchy melodies of airy folk-pop, it has diverged drastically after scrapping many recordings the band had worked on in 2006-07.

Their newest – and “start-over” – recording is due out in the winter of ‘09/’10 and is entitled “Frozen Lake.” “Frozen Lake” shows what Bear Country have been trying to reveal for the past few years, pretty harmonies, intimate lyrics, and the occasional feedback freak-out.
