When most people hear "bear attack," gruesome images of death and despair come to mind. One courageous indie rock band is here to change that. This Bear Attack is a bright 5-piece group whose music has been described by The Los Angeles Times as “full of careful harmonies and colorful guitar chords. It’s serious, mature music.” Hailing from four different regions of the US, the members of Bear Attack draw upon their diverse personal and musical backgrounds to craft smart, melodic pop songs.

Influences range from Radiohead's harmonic sensibilities to the vocal writing techniques of choral composers such as Eric Whitacre and haunting Irish songwriters, The Swell Season. Bear Attack successfully funded their debut 6-song EP, "Shapes," through online fundraising site, Kickstarter, with the support of almost 100 unique donors. Since its release in 2012, three songs have been featured on the hit ABC Family show, "Pretty Little Liars." In particular, "The Backpack Song" underscored a critical scene in the season three finale which has garnered the band a global audience. Following a sold out show at the legendary Troubadour in LA and a successful West Coast tour this summer, Bear Attack released their second EP, “Broke.” Accolades for the group continued to stream in, with The Music Ninja saying, “The ethereal harmonies give so much depth to their music, and quickly hook you in for the ride.” Continuing at this rate, Bear Attack is poised to become an undeniable presence in the music world, and as Under the Gun Review wrote: “We’ll be clearing spots in our ‘best of’ lists at the end of the year for Bear Attack.” Read more on Last.fm.
