Members: Chris Chetland, Andrew Clark, various vocalists. Baitercell have been players in the electronic music scene for more than a decade. They have morphed through various electronic genres over the years, with the greatest acclaim coming from their breaks and drum n bass. The first release 'Five Minutes Alone' came in 1997, delivering a unique flavour of jungle. With 1998 came 'Prototype', released on an EP that included several remixes, and interactive ROM content that was cutting edge for it's time. In 2003 Baitercell teamed up with Timmy Schumacher, a local DJ, to produce the radical 'Return Of The Boomshwack', and began work on what would become the 2005 album 'The Wall Of Bass Technique'.

The album packed bass-heavy anthems including 'Lay It Down', 'Lock And Load', 'The Bass Is Injected' and the smash hit 'What's Down Low'. 'What's Down Low' was the second most played track on New Zealand alternative radio in 2004, and also made it to #1 on the Breaks FM world sales chart that year. Remix credits include Savage, Supergroove, and breakbeat heavyweights Aquasky. The last few years have seen Baitercell locking themselves in the studio to not only write their own tracks but to pursue other avenues including production for artists of other genres, and venturing into composition for TV and film. 2009 marks Baitercell's proud return to the stage, showing off new album material that'll be packed with plenty of thumping bass, killer synths and a move toward a fusion of live instrumentation. A new album is due soon featuring some new guest vocalists. The first single 'These Voices' is out now, featuring the smooth vocals of Emptyself.
