At the end of August 2011 the group was born. Its members are Roel Eijgermans (drummer) and Lucien van der Krans (guitarist) from their former band ‘Purple Valley’ and Hessel Luiten (bass player) and Jens Luiten (singer/guitarist) from their former band ‘For the Record’. Together with keyboardist Silvin Willemsen they formed the band B Sharp. The name originates from the musical terms ‘B’ and ‘Sharp’. A ‘B’ is a musical note and a ‘Sharp’ is a sign for musicians that raises a note by half a note.
Because the difference between a B and a C is half a note, B Sharp is actually a simple C. This symbolizes that the band looks at music from another angle. They make and play music from a different point of view. In Januari 2012, their first EP ‘Evaluating People’ came out. The name originates from the lyrics of their songs, which are all about people.
Also the abbreviation of Evaluating People is EP. There are four songs on the EP and it can be found on iTunes, Spotify and many other music sites. Only after being a band for only five months, B Sharp has won the competition TalentEvent. This is a competition for musicians under the age of 19 and ended in the famous Paard van Troje. With this they have won seven festival performances.
Besides this, B Sharp has also been selected for the Walk the Line festival in may. After playing for more than a year, B Sharp is still developing its sound and finding new ways to surprise its audience. In short, more than worthwhile to come see them! Read more on Last.fm.
