An alum of regional stars Odd Girl Out, DeChant graduated to critical and commercial success with her first three solo recordings: Effort of the Spin (1996), Something of the Soul (2000), and her live CD, An Evening with Anne E. DeChant (2001). She is a storyteller, creating characters as diverse as the landscapes in which she paints them. Anne released "Pop The Star" in May of 2004.
It is produced by Don Dixon whose resume includes producing, writing and performing credits with R.E.M., Hootie and the Blowfish, The Counting Crows, Joe Cocker, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Marti Jones, The Smithereens, Marshall Crenshaw and more. The recordings represent the culmination of Anne E. DeChant as a writer, artist, and stage performer for over 15 years. The CD met with rave reviews including one in The Free Times (Cleveland) which predicted "Pop the Star" one of "the years best recordings." Anne has performed at Lilith Fair, opened for Nora Jones, Train, Vonda Shepard, 10,000 Maniacs, Stevie Nicks, appeared in the Vagina Monologues, done countless radio and television performances, and logged hundreds of club dates.
