As underground as a mole; as explosive as a Talib band from Rzeszow known as Animus has been working in its present squad since about half of May ‘07, when - in the same time - Tomasz Piotrowski (bass) and Grzegorz Ziemba (throat) appeared. But in fact, band’s roots reach the 4th day of 2007, when Maciej Prokop (1st guitar), Dominik Woźniak (2nd guitar) and Michał Balogh (drums) finally made up their minds about cooperation under mystic name ‘Pół Dupy Zza Centrali’ /A half of an ass from behind a bass drum/. Songs created during the time between January and May curved the form of their later activity. After nine months of pregnanting its own blare, Animus /hardly/ managed to take part in a rock off chalange known as ‘Ro(c)kowa Noc’ /Rock Night/, and it was greeted with public’s prize. Band’s sound is a fusion of different inspirations, music visions and ways of perciving noise of each crew member, that drifts somewhere between - diametrical different – conventions, balances on an noisy edge of planed-mistakes experiment and classic, powered by ethnic motives and lots of energy. Lyrics are wierd parabols, that blend varied word-plays and symbols in order to form an unitary and unrepeatable atmosphere of each composition. (5) An acoustic project from Austria.
