Singing in choirs since age 5, and playing the piano from the age of 6, she began to find her own voice around the age of 12, at which time she began voice training and became her school choir’s most enthusiastic soloist. By age 14, Amanda had written her first song, began vocal training with Lis Lewis (Pink, Rihanna) and less than a year later recorded a four song EP. Indie-Music.com took notice and, declaring her “precocious with a sound way beyond her years,” named her their top New and Notable artist for Feb. and March of 2010.
Encouraged by her success, and driven to push herself to new heights, Amanda spent the summer of ’10 recording her debut album, titled “Highwire.” Amanda’s fans love her warm voice, synth lines, and catchy melodies, but what really inspires them is her lyrics. At times poignant, at times tongue-in-cheek, she captures and underscores the honest questions, humorous insights and longing dreams of every fledgling teen coming into her own.
