"I write lyrics about my life experiences, the great and the not-so-good. My songs reflect the fact that I'm young and trying to figure out how to feel about love and life;) I write mostly Indie pop - Indie lyrics with a pop/rock sound..." -Amanda Lamb Wearing skinny jeans, t-shirts, and black Converse, Amanda Lamb may seem ordinary, but looks can be deceiving. Her mop of blonde curls and quick, energetic smile exude the carefree playfulness of youth, but dig a little deeper, and you will find that there’s an old soul dwelling within her teen heart. Some are born that way it seems, and so it was only natural for Amanda to be drawn to music at an early age, perhaps to express emotions that mere words could not.

Singing in choirs since age 5, and playing the piano from the age of 6, she began to find her own voice around the age of 12, at which time she began voice training and became her school choir’s most enthusiastic soloist. By age 14, Amanda had written her first song, began vocal training with Lis Lewis (Pink, Rihanna) and less than a year later recorded a four song EP. Indie-Music.com took notice and, declaring her “precocious with a sound way beyond her years,” named her their top New and Notable artist for Feb. and March of 2010.

Encouraged by her success, and driven to push herself to new heights, Amanda spent the summer of ’10 recording her debut album, titled “Highwire.” Amanda’s fans love her warm voice, synth lines, and catchy melodies, but what really inspires them is her lyrics. At times poignant, at times tongue-in-cheek, she captures and underscores the honest questions, humorous insights and longing dreams of every fledgling teen coming into her own. Ask Amanda what she wants and she'll tell you, "...to have my music played all over the world." Judging by the indelible sound she is creating, she’s well on her way. Read more on Last.fm.
