Alvaro Amici (1936-2003) is an italian singer-songwriter and one of the most rapresentative artists of the italian folkloristic music. He was born in 1936 in Rome, in Garbatella's district and he grew up his passion for music during the adolescence years. When he was 20, he started to sing in some Rome's restaurants as a street-performer with the typical repertoyre (Night Songs called "Serenate" and Sonnets or "Stornelli"). He was born in 1936 in Rome, in Garbatella's district and he grew up his passion for music during the adolescence years. When he was 20, he started to sing in some Rome's restaurants as a street-performer with the typical repertoyre (Night Songs called "Serenate" and Sonnets or "Stornelli"). In 1961 he signed to the "Vis Radio", an italian label, then he relased his debut album "Stornelli Maliziosi" starting his most succesful period.

During the 70's, at the same time of his prolific activity as musician, he took part in some cinematographic projects as a minor performer as Fellini's "Roma" and Franco Zeffirelli's "Brother Sun, Sister Moon". In 1980 was released his first self-produced Lp "Serenata di Papà", dedicated to his daughter Laura. His activity proceeded through the 80's and 90's until 2000 with his last recording "Pupetto Mio" He died in 2003 at the age of 67. Read more on Last.fm.
