Coming straight out of the shadows of Portsmouth UK, Akakios formed in late 2006. Influences by many different bands and movies, the band created a unique sound within their genre to deliver a fresh, modern, melodic and brutal sound. Coming straight out of the shadows of Portsmouth UK, Akakios formed in late 2006. Influences by many different bands and movies, the band created a unique sound within their genre to deliver a fresh, modern, melodic and brutal sound. Technically crushing like death metal and furiously fast as thrash. Akakios really pull out all the stops.

The band started out as simple side project between a few strangers, quickly becoming close friends and tight musicians. They have played a countless amount of shows with bands including Cilice, Enochian Theory, Tesseract, No Made Sense and Pure Negative. After many many months of shows, the band started work on their Debut EP entitled 'Virtues', which was Self-Released in February 2009, along with a Promotional Music Video of the track 'Resistance', which in all was a huge success, and now the band are to follow up with the new highly anticipated EP, "The Revival", coming Q1 2011. Their name taken from ancient Greek meaning "Innocent, Not Evil", combined with kakn (kake) meaning "evil", Akakios is a negative prefix.

Showing that even though as evil as they may seem, they, are not! * Akakios's musical material, music videos, album art, and web designs are all created, produced and released by the band themselves. * Influences: Soilwork, Mnemic, Solution .45, Lamb of God, Daath, Scar Symmetry, Strapping Young Lad, Opeth, Hatebreed, Carnal Forge, Disarmonia Mundi. Most things heavy, melodic and just out right awesome! Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply..
