He was soon performing in all his school shows and had formed a band called 'Rooh' in Islamabad by the time he reached college. His studies not suffer, however, since he found time to excel in both, music and studies. The singer-actor, who is fluent in Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi, released his first Indian album, Koi Chehra (Tips), recently. He also sang the title song in Jugaad starring Manoj Bajpai made by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Considering his background, it is hardly a surprise when he mentions that he tried to get into medical college but failed to get in.
Most parents in India and Pakistan consider engineering or medicine as the most lucrative professions, he adds. Luckily for Adeel, his parents extended their full support to any career he may want to pursue and he opted for music. Modeling happened naturally and he became a brand ambassador for Pepsi Cola while continuing to sing. It was during his stint for Pepsi that he came to Mumbai in 2003.
He worked with adman Prahlad Kakkar and was hooked. After recording a mere two songs in Pakistan, he packed his bags and headed for Bollywood. He says that he came to Bollywood because the market is much bigger and he hopes to get more exposure - something every artist craves. Adeel is devoted to Sufism and romance.
