From their debut demo titled, "Introduction To Hatred", to their wildly anticipated second demo, "Stared at From Across the Abyss", the sound quality and professionalism tied into the development of an album has matured in its own. Like-minded musicians Connor "Caliban" Linning and Kyle "Siam" Mountifield formed Abyssmal Rust in late 2008. The recording process began soon after a fate-sealing conversation involving the black metal band, Gorgoroth.

To begin they had to settle upon a name. The two combined their ideas and used inspiration from "Eternity in the Abyss", a song originally performed by Kyle and Connor's second band, The Sixth Crusade, and a favorite Darkthrone song to settle upon Abyssmal Rust. In the wake of "Introduction to Hated", Abyssmal Rust has worked long and hard on their second demo. With orchestral keyboards making their way into the tracks and appropriately placed Silent hill allusions this demo is sure to increase the AR hype.

Also, a rumored guest appearance by the pair's friend and fellow musician, Kyle Zennojo is to be expected. Kyle should be providing the vocals on Warship. Mountifield and Linning are both extremely glad to have such an opportunity. "He's an awesome dude and we're excited to have some work with him" says Linning.

The band has also stated a few pending ideas as to future endeavors. Linning plans to be working on a solo album as well as new Sixth Crusade material that both will be taking part in. A rehearsal album with footage or perhaps even a short movie on the band are all future possibilities so be sure to keep an eye on these boys as they are sure to rock the fucking house.
