In the beginning there was a yearning to escape the mainstream music scene. The three original members, Nick, Billy, and Alex began playing their instruments within 6 months all before the fall of 2004. In October, within 2 weeks of jamming in Nick's basement, the band had produced its first song titled "Frustration". They began playing voluntary local shows and hometown talent competitions.

They spent the next two years improving their talents and writing new songs. After a successful high school show in the spring of 2006, the band met their original vocalist. By the end of the summer of that same year, the band recruited a second guitarist and began expanding their musical creations. Throughout the next 2 years, AbolysH spent time dealing with a revolving door of guitarists and difficulties with filling the position.

Even though this was an issue, a lot of memorable shows and events were played within this time around the Durham region. After continuous searching, the role of their 5th member was taken on by Jake in the fall of 2008. With the current line-up they developed their sound, began playing larger scale, Toronto-based shows, and recorded their first EP titled "Death Helm" by the summer of 2009. Continuous efforts were made to put on shows in Toronto and around the GTA but a lack of funds and working around busy schedules made it difficult to play and perform as much as they wanted to.

Up until the summer of 2010 it seemed as if time was slowing down for the band. However in May of that year AbolysH placed 2nd place at the annual Battle of the Bands in Bowmanville, a truly amazing accomplishment. A month later a close friend of the band was finished school at Metal Works in Mississauga so the band decided it was a good idea to re-record a new CD (with his help) which included a couple new songs and some improvements on older ones. Alex's basement was totally ripped apart and turned into a recording studio over the course of a couple days.

After a long three days of recording it was looking a little more promising. The end of the summer came and the band had unfortunately lost connection with the lead vocalist and AbolysH was minus a front man after just completing the rough tracks (without vocals) on their first album. Throughout the fall there were numerous attempts at filling the gap then finally the bands recording engineer introduced a buddy from school and from the first audition he was the one. Derek (the new front man) brought a totally new style, sound and energy to the band.

It was then realized that the sound that had been missing was found. Leading into the late winter/spring of 2011, Derek had been with the band for a few months, jamming and learning the material and completely re-writing all the lyrics and vocal melodies. Recording vocals on the CD started soon after the band's first show with the new front man at The Atria in Oshawa. As we grow we grow stronger, as we fail to grow we learn… Read more on Last.fm.
