A Slight Breeze began as a solo recording side project of Bernard bass player Ryan Adams in northeastern Florida. After the demise of his main musical outlet in late 2006, Ryan decided to pursue his side project and construct an array of friends that would flesh out his home recordings. After the demise of his main musical outlet in late 2006, Ryan decided to pursue his side project and construct an array of friends that would flesh out his home recordings. The first e.p., I Am Not Prepared to Receive That Which I Desire Most, was released on the same day that the band played its first show, in February of 2007. The full length album Megafauna was recorded in July after a line-up change, and released in August through TwinHead Records.

In November 2007, Ryan moved to Nashville, Tennessee. With the change of location came a change of musical direction. "It Is So Good to Be Alive" was released in June of 2008, comprised of several deep ambient works, and the song "Total Absolve", which marked the second time the project has ever used vocals.
